33. Kalahari Purple-Glossed Snake
This snake has a beautiful purple color, as its name suggests. The species is found in Africa, specifically Botswana, northern Namibia, and western Zimbabwe.
Despite its name, this snake has yellow scales and a long dark brown stripe running down its body in addition to its purple color.
The snake is venomous and likes to feed on other snakes, such as garter snakes, so it probably isn’t a good pet. This snake has a rear-fanged design and is mildly venomous.
This snake lives in moist areas of the Kalahari and belongs to the burrowing family. The colorful snake feeds on other burrowing reptiles.
There is a common misconception that they are Stiletto snakes. Snakes that you are unable to identify should never be picked up.
