6. Blue Pit Viper
You wouldn’t want to mess with this snake. It doesn’t matter how beautiful blue pit vipers look, they are dangerously venomous.
It is a rare blue variant of the white-lipped island pit viper. Indonesia and East Timor are home to the species. Take a look but don’t touch it!
It is rare even to find blue individuals in this subspecies, which have been seen only in places such as Komodo Island. They have ‘hemorrhagic venom,’ which causes pain, swelling, necrosis, and severe bleeding, both internally and externally.
Despite the fact that their venom seldom kills, getting a bite from a white-lipped island pit viper is extremely unpleasant. Their fangs are used to ‘walk’ their prey into their mouths after the venom has done its work.
