Lions are necessary for the ecosystem, however, it is sad that their numbers have diminished drastically in the last 100 years. Today, lions in the wild are found only in the Gir Forest of India, outside of Africa. We feel truly privileged to have witnessed a lion pair at close quarters during a trip to Sasangir.
