My Grandma’s stories when I went to sleep.
My dog licking my face in the morning when I was still asleep.
My house in Kanchantala, which I visited during my school vacations…. Where I could play with cows, goats.
To enjoy Durga Puja at home with all my cousins around.
My dips in the Ganges with my father or my grandma.
My mother’s big red bindi.
My grandpa’s stories of his going to London.
The fights with my brother.
My school friends and my teachers.
There are so many more … I am grateful that God has given me so many memories to look back and smile.

Things that made me happy as a kid-
Sunny blue skies,
My big box of who, whats, and whys.
Swaying green trees.
My hair lapping against my face in the breeze.
The wet, cold raindrops on the mud dry.
The birds singing and flying happily in the sky.
My mother’s sweet voice to put me to sleep at night.
My father’s promise that in his strong arms, he would hold me tight.
My family that kept me safe from all harm.
My innocence and my naivete that added to my happiness and charm.

The old tree swing
The old tyre and rope thing.
It took me to my childhood of yore.
When swinging back and forth was my only chore.
The cool breeze fanning my face
When the swing would gradually pick up pace.
The to-and-fro motion lulling me to sleep.
The sense of contentment and peace it gave was so deep.
Sometimes it is the simple things that give you joy.
Just breathe in fresh air, be amidst nature and truly enjoy.

Lonely trees may not be lonely they have their eternal company,
Songs of the birds;
shadows of the clouds;
lights of the Sun;
whispers of the winds…
Almost seems that it is calling out to the birds to come and enjoy the Tyre Swing

One of the best things I did was to take time daily to reflect on how much I have.
I planted trees, spent time with my family read books, and made friends. I may not have made tonnes of money or achieved lots of fame. It may not be all that I wanted but I am content knowing someone somewhere is dreaming to have what I have. I am happy that I have made a difference.

One of the best things I did was that I realized this life is a gift of God to us so just live with purity, honesty, and truth.
Give unconditional love to one and all if possible.
