What Are Habits?

Let’s describe habits. Habits are the little decisions you perform and the actions you implement every day.

Habits account for about 40 percent of our behaviors on any given day.

Your life now is essentially the sum total of your habits.

“How in form or out of form are you? A consequence of your habits.

“How satisfied or miserable you are? A consequence of your habits.

“How prosperous or broken you are? A consequence of your habits.

What you frequently do (i.e. what you spend time reflecting about and performing each day) eventually determines the person you are, the things you believe, and the temperament that you imitate.

Everything I write about – from procrastination and productivity to strength and nutrition – begins with more beneficial habits.

When you determine to modify your habits, you can modify your life.

Humans are said to have plenty of habits. Habits are nothing but the behavior that we perform every day.

Habits are very sticky in nature and can easily bind the victim and hold them for long.

They have deep roots, and hence, habits, ones formed, are difficult to be removed. Habits can bring good or evil; they can make or break our fortunes.

According to John Dryden, “We first make out habits, and then our habit makes us.”

Thus, our habits reflect our personality. An action done occasionally is not considered as a habit. It needs regular practice and consistency.

Good habits like reading books, listing to music, being punctual and sincere needs continuous practice and a lot of care.

Once, good habits are cultivated, then they will help us all through life, for Ex. Brushing teeth, eating breakfast, lunch, and dinner on time, sleeping at the time, reading books and participating in physical exercise regularly will help us cultivate disciplined and healthy lifestyles.

These little good habits will also make a great difference in our lives.

At the same time, bad habits like biting nails, telling lies, and watching mobile for long hours can be easily acquired and grow with extra speed like a healthy growing weed.

They may also become an addiction, and it will be hard to escape from it, for instance, there are some people who consume more cups of tea daily.

They may feel restless or uncomfortable if they don’t drink tea. Habits are too difficult to be avoided.

Everyone respects a man who has good habits.

Good habits help one to succeed in life. “Sow an act, and you reap a habit sow a habit, and you reap a character.

Sow a charter, and you reap a destiny”. So to get the fruits of good habits, we should try to cultivate them early from our childhood.

It has said that to build or break a habit, it takes 21 days, and if we repeat an action at the same time in the same place for at least 21 days, then it will be easy to build that habit.

Hence, wisely select a habit and tend them well to reach the goal.
