RSVKA Awardee: Mimi Das
Mimi Das has been working with children in slums who were school dropouts and addicted to drugs. Within these 10 years, she has been taking care of 300 orphan children of Ashiyana Happy Home West Bengal by providing them with their monthly ration for daily food and education accessories and also teaching them and keeping them at par with other children from her own money.
Now her friends have joined hands with her, and she has set a target of 1000 children in the coming 2 years who will receive the same benefit. She feels that nutritious food and education is the basic need and right of every child.
She has received various awards, namely, Swami Vivekananda Excellence Award under the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affair Govt of India, Bharat Leadership Award, VLCC National Woman Empowerment Award, the Woman of Substance Award, the Exceptional Woman of Excellence Award by World Women Economic Forum and IIM Kozhikode International Education Icon Award Asian Education Icon Award and many more.
